WHAT ARE TRAINEESHIPS AND APPRENTICESHIPS?
A traineeship or apprenticeship is full-time or part-time employment that combines work and structured training. Traineeships usually last one year and include occupations, such as business administration
(admin, accounts, HR, local govt. etc), retail, and hospitality. Apprenticeships last three to four years and are generally offered in the traditional trade industries, such as building and construction, metals and engineering, landscaping/horticulture to name just a few. Throughout the duration of the apprenticeship, training is undertaken at a TAFE or other approved training provider.
