CORE BUSINESS
MG My Gateway is a community non profit business that was started in the Macarthur region of New South Wales 30 years ago.

We've seen a lot of changes in that time through Wollondilly, Camden & Campbelltown and we've grown well beyond the Macarthur region with offices in Sydney and field staff that can be found North, South, East & West across the State. We're excited by the growth and opportunity these changes offer young people. The opportunity to get a good job, get skilled, get a fair pay and start thinking about the future. That's something that drives us.

As you've seen from this website, if you need an apprentice or traineeship sorted we'll come to you.

You'll meet committed MG staff that will explain everything you need to know and they'll also explain the sort of financial benefits you could be entitled to when you put someone on. We're an Australian Apprenticeship Centre and a Registered Training Organisation providing quality training ... and if you prefer MG can employ your apprentices and trainees! You basically hire them and we do all the paperwork stuff like workers comp, Taxation, Superannuation and the like. We take the headache out of your business so you can do business ... Not Paperwork!

At Our Core ...
That's our core business, but at our core is Community. So we're working to build a better community by getting involved and giving back. It's about doing real things to make a difference to people's lives. MG's My Gift will support Indigenous, Disadvantage and Disability issues as well as Pathways to youth employment and training...and this will be done through financial gifts, fundraising and mentoring partnerships. It's about bringing people together in the community.

We've already begun to make a difference over the last twelve months through fundraising events, a car raffle and a fundraising charity build for the Right Start Foundation supporting families touched by Down syndrome. Our Thanks to our Charity Build Partners Macarthur Credit Union & Procorp Builders , check out more info & pics by clicking on the red bubbles on this page!

Our most recent My Gift project started with a question "How do I get a job if I can't get my driver's licence?" Increasingly MG My Gateway had been faced with this very real question and major road block to employment. Host Employers want candidates with a driver's licence or at least prospects of getting one after employment. Consider your prospects of employment then if you are growing up in a part of Sydney disadvantaged in almost every way, other than community spirit, with very little chance of getting a licence under current NSW legislation and 120 hours behind the wheel practise ... This is the situation facing James Meehan High School Students at Macquarie Fields.

My Gateway Marketing Manager Steve Wisbey says "The principal and teachers are doing an exemplary job with these young people and I was inspired to get involved because of their commitment to students. You don't hear often of schools presenting a "No Dole" program or a POLISH program to help students polish up their personal presentation and communication skills for potential employers. We were so impressed by the students at a recent business breakfast we attended that I knew MG had to begin a relationship with this school and help them in their endeavour to mould the lives of young men & women."
"Statistics find many students families are 3rd and 4th generation public housing. There is generational long term unemployment, a high percentage living below the poverty line, a majority single parent families, no car, no money for 120hrs worth of petrol and genuinely no chance of getting the licence to get the job to break the cycle. Our MY GIFT program wants to break the cycle and we want to employ the kids and give them a future with a Real Job and Real Pay. To us it's a no brainer, by providing a vehicle and partnering with local organisations we can create a clear pathway for a young person to get their licence so they can get a job. Working together with these excellent teachers these kids will not become just another statistic!" Steve enthused.

Principal Gail Taylor has been excited by the community support "It all started with the National Australia Bank Schools First program. We received $25,000 to run a driver education program and then NSW Police through Macquarie Fields Local Area Command offered to mentor the students taking part…But we still didn't have a car until My Gateway pulled it all together. MG has been fantastic organising the Rotary Club of Ingleburn who donated $5000 towards the project as well as support sponsors Campbelltown Catholic Club, Clintons Toyota and MWLP. Their donations will now see My Gateways My Gift program donate a Toyota Hybrid Camry from their fleet to the school. It has been a wonderful community effort."
The vehicle will now be used by students in conjunction with professional driving school tuition and volunteers to get their hours up so they can progress to a full licence, and My Gateway is looking forward to being able to offer jobs to Students once they've got their licence.
